Healey Building

Those of you who enjoy my picture posts and especially my Downtown Atlanta posts would probably enjoy my Healey Building Tumblr, which is nothing but Healey pics. I created it to support and publicize our 100th anniversary! Lots of pictures by yours truly but lots of historical photos and photos by others — from Flickr, Instagram and more — will be coming up. -Wendy

As you might guess, I live in the south not the north. (I am a Yankee though!) Flowers have started blooming and daffodils have been up for 2-3 weeks.

Good timing! I frequently go home via Decatur station and today I took a series of cam-pics there using Retro Camera for Android. More to come; trying to space them out.

ATL Urbanist: Downtowners

Another (so far) happy Downtown Atlanta camper. I’ve lived Downtown since 1998, which makes me an old timer, although ha, I was only 24 when I moved. I lived at the Metropolitan for 3+ years and since 2001 have lived at the Healey. During that time, my longest commute has been my current one (MARTA to Emory) and my shortest, aside from working at home for 2 years, was Metropolitan-to-2-Peachtree (same block). There are lots of things I like about Downtown and lots of things I don’t like, but overall I wouldn’t move unless it was to another city entirely.

atlurbanist:

My wife, my son and I have moved into Atlanta’s historic Fairlie-Poplar neighborhood, as mentioned before. We’re officially residents of Downtown Atlanta and, even though we’re still getting over post-move craziness, we’re already enjoying the new place a lot. The view from our building is…
